joshua, at cln...

there is a new idea at cln... learn about it here:

https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/docs/DOC-16300#comment-34483

joshua has already done 2 and has another in the works...i suggest you watch them and make an honest assessment of yourself... you will see that something like this is the standard by which you will be measured...

if you think you have have the fundamentals cold, then you don't need this, however the question you must ask yourself, and you must keep asking yourself time and again, all throughout this experience is:

But do I really...

two steps forward, five steps back...

joshua idea...

never thought of this one for the lab...  (actually i'm getting a 2nd internet hookup this week for lab access to the internet; more on that as it develops)

a frequent poster on cln came up with this idea for simulating an isp in your lab, or gns3 topology... his name is joshua and his posts are very good... you should check out some of his responses there...

"if you want to simulate multiple internet routes, just create a load of loopbacks on the ISP router and configure them to all be on different subnets."

of course the isp router being one that you simply designate as such...

i can't believe i hadn't thought of this before... yet another great way to utilize loopbacks for testing...

thanks joshua...
