quote of the day, mem halabi...

of course the first fifty pages of this book is dedicated to internet acronyms like rir, arin, iana, and internet history in general, which i actually enjoy because it is a timeline of various stages of my networking career...

and the next fifty pages is devoted to addressing, which gets old but i always suffer through in case of the occasional curve ball... rare...

thankfully, vlsm was minimal; i half expected a class on subnetting like you get with the ccie cert guide from wendell where he goes into binary for quite a few pages (WENDELL!!)... yuck... if you survived ccna and are still not using minus 256, or God forbid, a calculator at least, go get your damn head examined...

this thing is actually a good read by the way...

(the) terms aggregate, CIDR block, and supernet are often used interchangeably. Generally, these terms all indicate that a group of contiguous IP networks has been summarized into one route announcement. More precisely, CIDR is represented by the notation, supernets have a prefix length
shorter than the natural mask, and aggregates represent any summary route.

and the above has NOTHING TO DO WITH VLSM on your nasty little enterprise network...

good, we can relax now...
