one of the things this ccnp tshoot net acad lab manual is making me do, or rather, i'm finally making myself do, is some sorely needed maintenance... gotta stop being a fly by the seat of the pants guy on my home network, and treat it like the production network it is here...
i bumped into this cool syslog server for my win 7 box...
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Syslog-Server.shtml
it was a painless download...i've used kiwi often throughout my career, but it's kind of a pain in the ass now that solar winds owns it...
i like this graphically with the color coding and severity level context click on feature... nice and simple...
another thing i've been meaning to do is some backing up, bin's and others, before i end up with a disaster on my hands...
the folks who blast through tshoot are making a mistake... yeah, yeah, you're so close, everybody says it's the easiest one, blah, blah... don't be that fool... as always the net acad lab manuals for ccnp are best in show... if you are not using them for each step through ccnp, you are not getting it cisco's way, bottom line... front load the pain; it will make the ccie lab less than insurmountable... that is the point, isn't it? and there is no excuse with tshoot because of this:

damn i'm glad i found these... and the tshoot lab book is only 35 bucks... priceless...
