before i began the third ticket in lab 4, i downloaded a stopwatch applet for windows... you would not believe how fast the time goes... actually, you would...
one of the good things about that is it adds another element of excitement to the exercise... when you consider that there will be about 12-13 trouble tickets in the 2 hours of the ccie lab troubleshooting section, then you'll note that's about 10 minutes give or take for each problem...
it boils down to the idea that they are not testing humans, they are testing machines; you, as a machine... in order to function as a machine you have to become a machine... then there is the fact that you have to get 80 percent on both sections... wow...
no wonder they're so successful at failing people...

it takes a lot of effort in prep work to set these trouble tickets up... but the great part is there are 33 of them or so... this is one of the best things i've ever put myself through since i began the journey... and once i get through all the tickets with the book (meaning, reading the problem description) i will simply pick ticket configs at random, load em up, not look at the book, and of course, start the timer...
